This collection holds nearly 12,000 books on varied themes with a chronology from the beginning of the 20th century until today, the most important of them being the collection labelled Fondo Canario (Canary Islands Collection), consisting of books on matters relating to the archipelago, or that have been written by Canarian authors.

In a complementary way the Real Sociedad owns, besides publications printed by the Society itself, a general collection with a variety of themes, arising from donations made by embers, private users and other institutions such as the Gobierno de Canarias, the Cabildos Insulares, Ayuntamientos, the University of La Laguna, El Museo Canario, the Instituto de Estudios Canarios, and many other public and private societies.
